Known as Pusat Pemuliharaan Hidup Liar in Malay, Sungkai Wildlife Conservation Centre is managed by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Jabatan Perhilitan) in Sungkai, Perak. Situated within the 2468 hectares at the Sungkai Wildlife Reserve, the Sungkai Wildlife Conservation Centre is a complete conservation complex run by the DWNP for the breeding of pheasants, seladang and deer.
The facilities available here are breeding cages for pheasants and hornbills, paddocks for the Sambar deer, and for Malayan Gaur. Besides that, there are also egg incubators, pheasants hatching laboratory and isolation cages.
All the deers and Malayan Gaur are managed intensively for breeding purpose.
This centre was under the responsibility of PERHILITAN, where they are responsible for the wildlife habitat and security. Sungkai Wildlife Conservation Centre is managed by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Jabatan Perhilitan) in Sungkai, Perak.
This centre which spreads over 50 hectares was opened in year 1971 and its primary conservation effort is to prevent extinction of the endangered wildlife.
Upon reaching the conservation site, the first thing to do is follow the direction board to the main office . once you reach there you have to find an officer to be your guide so you won't get lost!
Due to the reason that there are many animals at here, visitors are not allow to make noise, hunt those animals there, light a fire without permission. Besides that, you are also prohibited to pluck the plants, walk alone, and litter. These rules and regulations are not applied to all people, they are mainly for people who will be camping here.
